History

Our Firm was founded in 1912 by Emile Eddé, who was President of the Republic of Lebanon from 1936 to 1941 and founder of the National Bloc, an influential political party.

Raymond Edde took over the lead of the Firm in 1949. He was a prominent member of parliament, minister in various cabinets and an official presidential candidate in 1958. Raymond Edde was assisted by a team of lawyers including his partner, Khalil Chebli, who passed away in 1969 and was a prominent member of the Firm for 35 years.

Our current Senior Partner, Samir Baroudi, joined the Firm in 1963 and attained his current position in 2000.

In 2012, we celebrated our One Hundred Years’ Anniversary. By then, we grew to become one of the most prominent and distinguished Law Firms of Lebanon with extensive experience in a broad range of practice areas.
